Business Roundtable & 64th Regular Meeting

Held hybrid at DEİK — Foreign Economic Relations Board of Türkiye headquarters. After the opening speech of BSEC BC Chairman-in-office Mr. Selçuk Akat, BSEC Executive Manager Mr. Kenan Murtuzov informed about recent BSEC affairs. The roundtable, “Open Discussion for the Future of Economic Cooperation in Black Sea Region,” included a presentation by Mr. Hakkı Karataş, Ph.D., Chief Economist of DEİK, on the macroeconomic outlook in the world and in BSEC countries.

Sessions on the Middle Corridor and on digitalization and seamless border crossings, with a contribution from USER Romania on Constanța Port.

Special Board Meeting of BSEC Business Council

Representatives from Armenia, Azerbaijan, Bulgaria, Greece, Romania, Russia, Serbia and Türkiye. Mr. Selçuk Akat opened the meeting; Mr. Kemal Kaptaner was introduced as Secretary General. Ambassador Dimitrios Rallis confirmed PERMIS support, including a temporary technical office in Istanbul for the Turkish Chairmanship.

62nd Regular Meeting of the Board of Directors

Organized by the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Romania at the end of its extended 2020 Chairmanship. Speakers: Mr. Mihai Daraban, Amb. Michael B. Christides and Mr. Alexandru Ene. The Economic Chamber of Macedonia was welcomed after North Macedonia’s accession to BSEC. Tirana CCI was congratulated on taking over the Chairmanship from 1 January 2021.

Mr. Mihai Daraban received Amb. Michael B. Christides at CCIR headquarters as Romania took a new six-month BSEC mandate and CCIR the BSEC BC Chairmanship. Discussion covered cohesion inside the Business Council, the European Green Deal, circular economy, digitalization and energy security.
